Problem

Students had to line up in person to order university merchandise and supplies from the BukSU Economic Enterprise Unit. The app was designed to remove that physical queue.

My role

This was a group final project for Application Development. I was the only developer: I built the Android app, the backend functions, and the admin side, while my teammates wrote the documentation.

What I built

  • Student ordering with real-time stock sync, a cart, and order status tracking on Firebase Firestore.
  • Sign-in with Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In, with multiple user roles, and Cloudflare Turnstile to block bots.
  • A real-time admin dashboard with sales charts (MPAndroidChart).
  • Order-ready alerts through Firebase Cloud Messaging, Cloud Functions v2, and Brevo email.
  • Media handled through Cloudinary.

Status

Completed as a school project. It is not deployed and is not in use by the EEU. The source code is private.

Screens

  • Home screen: product search, a featured hoodie at ₱469, category filters for Accessories and Apparel, and featured products
  • Featured products: two hoodies and a sweatshirt with prices and add-to-cart buttons; one hoodie shows "Only 5 left"
  • My Orders: orders filtered by status, each with its date, items, total paid, and a "Picked Up" status
